I grew up in a chiropractic family so i assumed it was normal to rarely be sick, and hardly ever need visits to the GP or medications.

While completing my sports diploma I began playing ice hockey for a local team, and then became the team physician for the New Zealand team for the world championships over the next 6 years. I was invited to attend the Sydney Olympics in 2000 as part of an international chiropractic team providing care to teams who did not have their own chiropractors.

I have now completed 30 years in practice, and my third postgraduate diploma (three years of paediatrics) and am looking forward to helping more of our families be healthier and achieve more. Some of the people we saw as children are now having their children checked, continuing their proactive healthcare legacy.

I have always been a keen sportsperson, and passionate about health and working with people. Chiropractic ticked all the boxes for me. I work predominantly in our Pukekohe clinic, but am also a Clinical Supervisor at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in Mt Wellington, mentoring our future chiropractors. It is a great pleasure working with the students and their patients, and helping them develop their skills.

Our 2 boys have had chiropractic care from birth. They really enjoy their chiropractic care, and know that their bodies work so much better when they are checked regularly. As young adults, they have elected to continue to have regular chiropractic care.

After 30 years in practice, i am still excited about chiropractic, and the patients and team i work with. It’s an honour to be part of the chiropractic family.

I am a descendant of Muaūpoko (Horowhenua), and Te Arawa (Rotorua) iwi. My passion in life has always been to empower others, and to be of service to the community. Chiropractic allows me the opportunity to do just that.

My upbringing was jam packed with sport, and i thrived off of my competitive nature. I have been involved with the New Zealand Woman’s Softball team, as a fitness trainer/medic for many years, only taking a break to complete my studies at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. While i am fortunate to know the benefits of chiropractic care, i do wish i had known what chiropractic was earlier in life, so i could’ve reaped the rewards of functionality, performance, and overall improvement to my health and wellbeing sooner.

Whether you are an elite sportsperson; keen gardner, weekend warrior, or dedicated parent or grandparent like me, chiropractic is a great way of learning about how to better care for your nervous system.

Outside of the clinic, in addition to watching an playing sports, i love spending quality time with whānau and friends. I look forward to meeting and connecting with more members of our local community and discussing how best to care for you.
